Job Description:

Perkins Coie LLP is seeking a talented and dynamic individual to join our team as a Client Accounts Assistant. In this role, the Client Accounts Assistant will serve as a key resource providing essential support to the Client Accounts team and responding to routine inquiries from both internal and external clients regarding account matters. This role also involves assisting with special projects and offering additional support to the Client Accounts team as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.

  • Answer client inquiries by telephone and email, manage the Billing Hotline and Finance Help Desk.
  • Confer with lawyers and legal staff regarding client financial data requests when appropriate. Record requests in ticketing software accurately and timely.
  • Consistently monitor assigned Help Desk tickets.
  • Provide analysis of common request trends to management.
  • Perform special projects, research and support services as requested, including creating ad hoc reports, retrieving document copies and gathering accounts payable back up detail.
  • Track invoice mailings and electronic submissions. Process and track returned mail.
  • Perform other tasks including, but not limited to, time sheet corrections, retrieval/copy of requested documents, mailing statements of account, and running various standard statistical reports using Elite 3E and other tools.
  • Be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the job position, consistent with the Firm's attendance expectations.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to express self effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion.
  • Perform well under pressure of a heavy volume of requests and execute assignments with moderate direction.
  • Ability to quickly calculate figures and amounts such as percentage changes.
  • Ability to perform basic reconciliations.
  • Ability to accurately type 40-wpm and use a ten-key calculator by touch.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and establish effective working relationships with all levels of firm personnel.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically Excel and Word.

SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED

  • Basic knowledge of standard databases and/or specialized accounting software packages. Elite Enterprise or 3E software experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of accounts receivable procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a 2-year degree and 2-3 years of related experience including billing and/or accounting experience in a professional services firm, or equivalent combination of experience and education.

This position may be filled in the following location(s). The listed compensation range reflects the typical pay for this role, though it is rare for new hires to receive an offer at the top of the range. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity.

Washington state compensation range: $54,580 to $70,250 annually
