Position Summary
The employee is responsible for oversight of the university-wide student course evaluation process that occurs each semester for all undergraduate and graduate courses and ensuring that the process complies with all UGA and USG policies and procedures. This process involves responsibility for a university-wide course evaluation system that produces a survey for each course section offered during a semester at UGA. The survey includes standard, university-wide questions as well as specific questions based on the discipline of a given school or college. The employee will be responsible for implementing the course evaluation process each semester, including those performed mid-semester. This involves releasing surveys, providing communication to students and the campus, and compiling and reporting survey results. The employee will also be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and administration of the course evaluation system, including user access and support requests on campus as well as training.
Additionally, the employee will work with faculty, staff, and administration university-wide concerning course evaluation questions, management of the system, and providing data from evaluations to departments, schools, colleges, and administration use in student success assessment and application toward processes like promotion and tenure. The employee will be responsible for responding to inquiries regarding the evaluation process from campus constituents and administrators. The employee will also be responsible for working directly with the vendor and technical team to ensure effective implementation. The employee is expected to perform these tasks with a high-level of autonomy, independence, and discretion, with the ability to make judgment calls as it relates to the course evaluation process and system.

Student Course Evaluation System Oversight

  • Oversee day-to-day functional performance of student course evaluation system.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for the student course evaluation system.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and lead implementation of solutions within the system, working directly with the vendor to ensure effectiveness.
  • Maintain and update website for the student course evaluation system.
  • Collect, review, and update all departmental and school/college course evaluation questions annually.
  • Collect, review, and update all user access for the system on an annual basis.

Duties/Responsibilities
Liaise with Schools/Colleges and Administration

  • Serve as the liaison between the Office of the Registrar and schools and colleges across the university for student course evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain user access process and approval on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for the development and updating of all training materials for faculty, staff, and administration, and facilitating training sessions for all users of the student course evaluation process and system.
  • Develop and have responsibility for communication with the schools and colleges as it relates to changes and issues with the system and to obtain feedback and suggestions for improvement of the student course evaluation process.
  • Provide information to the Office of Instruction assessment unit about the course evaluation process and application.
