Clerical Assistant - Outreach

Department of Health & Human Services

Hourly Pay: $15.75 - $23.63

Job Summary: The Clerical Assistant will provide general office support for the Aging and Disability Resource Center Outreach team to maintain efficient office operations. This position is responsible for maintaining and monitoring outreach print materials, giveaways, and event equipment. This is to include, assisting with setup/teardown of outreach event equipment, assisting with incoming mail and deliveries, as well as various other projects.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Assist program supervisor and staff with preparation, setup, and tear down of required equipment for outreach events including tent, folding tables, displays, and outreach materials.
  • Maintain and monitor stock of outreach supplies including print materials, giveaways, packing of outreach suitcases, and event equipment. Assist with ordering materials.
  • Support staff to ensure incoming packages and mail are delivered to appropriate staff members and locations. Receive packages and physically deliver to the appropriate storage area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and needed by the department.


Minimum Education and Experience:



  • Must be a current Wisconsin resident.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver license.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Must have experience in customer service, warehouse, office work or closely related.
  • Basic knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 30 lbs.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working with individuals in aging and disabilities population.
  • Associate degree or higher.
  • Community Outreach experience.



Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets. Familiar with general office equipment and office machines which includes faxing, scanning, and printing. The basic exchange of information with internal and external contacts. Reading, writing, and comprehending simple instructions, reports, short correspondence, and memos. Understands and follows instructions.
