Summary:
This position is with Presbyterian Healthcare Services. The role is responsible for performing repairs, lubrication, and adjustments on hospital equipment to help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients, guests, and staff. The position includes specializing in a technical area of the department while also supporting a variety of general maintenance duties. Team members continue developing technical skills by working alongside experienced specialists. Responsibilities: This position is located with Lincoln County Medical Center in Ruidoso, New Mexico. The Maintenance Technician performs repairs, lubrication, and adjustments on hospital equipment to support a safe, reliable, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role includes general maintenance duties and continued skill development alongside experienced specialists, all while contributing to a positive, friendly atmosphere that supports quality patient care.
- Maintains all mechanical systems and equipment in the facility. Responds to all maintenance requests and performs logical troubleshooting.
- Performs electrical maintenance and construction activities. Works on low-voltage (208V) equipment and distribution systems.
- Maintains and repairs refrigerators, freezers, drinking fountains, and ice makers.
- Maintains and installs building automation equipment. Makes all wiring connections, calibrates sensors, and adjusts operating parameters.
- Performs plumbing, maintenance, and construction activities. Repairs and installs basic hospital fixtures and small domestic water and waste lines.
- Maintains interior and exterior finishes including paints, stains, sealers, vinyl wall coverings, and vinyl base covers. Works with suspended ceilings, patches most finishes, and does limited woodworking.
- Maintains all aspects of grounds maintenance for all campuses. Operates and maintains all grounds equipment.
- Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
- Handling and packaging of Universal Waste; florescent bulbs, batteries, mercury containing equipment.
- Proper labeling of Universal Waste containers including accumulation start date.
- Knowledge of Universal Waste accidental release procedures
- Understanding of infrequent disposal of hazardous waste; flammables, toxics, oxidizers, corrosives.
- Handling and packaging of Used Oil/Used Hydraulic Fluids for proper disposal.
- Proper labeling of Used Oil containers including accumulation start date.
- Knowledge of Used Oil/Used Hydraulic Fluid accidental release procedures and collection/clean up.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Trade or vocational school in building/construction trades
- Prefer state journeyman license
- One to three years experience in maintenance
