Position Summary:

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for providing insurance expertise and support to clients while implementing our product, a insurance financial solution. This individual will utilize strong analytical skills to understand the client's business needs, determine the system's current functionality, and develop solutions to meet those needs. They will also have product quality assurance (QA) responsibilities, including developing and executing test cases for client-requested system enhancements and writing documentation. When a problem arises during an implementation, the Business Analyst will research available precedents and partner with both clients and management to establish an efficient and effective resolution.

Job Description:



  • Leads or participates in a business requirement analysis and documentation of client workflow and procedures, and how will integrate with our product.
  • Conducts training workshops for internal and external clients on the use of our product.
  • Provides support to clients, answering questions on function and usage of product. Manages client questions and issues until resolved.
  • Assists client in reconciliation of expected ceded and assumed financials to system generated results.
  • Performs QA responsibilities: developing, estimating, and executing test plans and communicating testing status regularly with project manager.
  • Creates user stories and/or functional specifications for any client customizations.
  • Guides less-experienced business analysts and clients on how to use product to meet business requirements.
  • Leads or participates in client UAT sessions.
  • Provides advice or analysis that may influence the outcome of resource allocation or disposition.
  • May conduct or assist with marketing presentations for our reinsurance product.



Requirements:



  • 5 years of progressive business analyst experience
  • B.S. in Computer Science or Finance/Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Ability to understand business needs and translate these into clear business requirement, based on an agile Use Case industry standard (DOD, DOR, etc.)
  • Proficiency in the Digital user experience, with focus on Insurance market in the North America location
  • Good understanding of Product and Product's Project implementation lifecycle
  • Great customer facing and interpersonal skills. Can lead and facilitate sessions and tough discussions.
  • Self-learner and proactive approach
  • JIRA experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge and use of MS Office applications such as Excel and Word
  • Experience with project management Agile methodology is a plus.
  • Prior experience working for a software vendor is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with URS (Universal Reinsurance System) or FRS (Freedom Reinsurance System) is a plus.
  • Are and/or CPCU designations are a plus.
  • Travel up to 20% may be required.
