Are you a skilled Systems Engineer with a passion for driving mission-critical application development projects? NS2 Mission is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you will support an agile application development team by translating mission needs into actionable tasks and ensuring the smooth execution of sprints and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and manage new requirements, decomposing them into detailed and actionable development tasks.
  • Develop user stories with clear and measurable acceptance criteria.
  • Understand and manage technical dependencies between user stories to ensure proper sequencing and delivery.
  • Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and daily stand-up meetings.
  • Support and deliver briefings to management and mission stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in systems engineering, including strategy development, task prioritization, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to produce accurate technical drawings that effectively depict system designs.
  • Skilled in coordinating efforts across cross-functional development teams.
  • Proficient in Jira and Confluence.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Strong track record of engaging with customers to prioritize and align development goals.
  • Experience briefing high-priority items to senior management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective under pressure with strong problem-solving capabilities.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in AWS environments.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scrum Master certifications.
  • Familiarity with data lifecycle management and industry best practices for data governance.
