Lab Technician

The Lab Technician assists in developing and performing experiments/tests, data analysis and competitive analysis in support of engineering, product development, quality control, and purchasing functions.

What You'll Do (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):

• Conducts material, component and product testing in such a manner to assure work progress and completion in accordance with required schedules.

• Assists in developing proprietary test procedures and standards.

• Assists in developing special test equipment for testing to Tempur Sealy performance standards.

• Supports testing activity to coordinate with suppliers, other divisions and research functions to assure completion on a timely basis.

• Assists in developing advanced analytical methods to provide insight into and validate the functional performance of our products.

• Coordinates analysis and testing activities on materials and components with new suppliers to assure compliance with TempurSealy performance standards.

• Assists when appropriate, with routine assigned tasks consistent with daily research center operation including shipping, receiving, lab equipment maintenance, area maintenance, 6S audits and cleanliness, etc.

• Crosstrain with other Lab facilities (NPD and Test Service Labs) and provide support as assigned

• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need (Qualifications):

• Minimum 2-year technical degree or 2-3 years associated work experience in an analytical lab
• Hands-on lab experience, communication, records management, technical-competence, analytical problem-solving
• Experienced in MS Excel and database management
• Ability to obtain a license and drive a forklift in a busy production environment

$38,000 to $55,000
