Key Responsibilities:



  • Performs duties assigned under the direction of Shop Manager to ensure the team is aligned on the goals and objectives for the team for each day.
  • Lead the daily activities of the team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship, safety compliance and efficient workflow in the shop/field environment.
  • Perform and oversee the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and lead root cause analysis on equipment failures.
  • Interpret technical drawings, OEM manuals, and repair specifications.
  • Ensure proper documentation of repair findings, measurements, tolerances, and parts used.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to schedule resources, parts, and equipment downtime.
  • Support the training and development of mechanics and new team members.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.
  • Recommend process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.



Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school or mechanical certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with rotating equipment repair in an industrial environment.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical fits, tolerances, and alignment procedures.
  • Familiar with API, ANSI, and OEM standards related to rotating equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Effective leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience a plus.
  • Valid driver's license; ability to travel to customer sites if needed.


Working Conditions:



  • Work performed in shop and/or field settings with exposure to noise, grease, and rotating machinery.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
  • May be required to work overtime or on-call based on job demands.
