This is a Maintenance Technician level 2, located in Healdsburg, CA at Frei Winery as a rotating shift (every 6 weeks). This position provides mechanical maintenance/repair support for coastal winery operations. What You Will Do:
- Lead machinery troubleshooting and document repairs.
- Replace or repair defective parts; reassemble and test equipment.
- Handle assigned projects and emergency maintenance calls.
- Disassemble, inspect, test, and calibrate machinery.
- Interpret technical documents and maintain cross-functional relationships.
- Seek continuous improvement and ensure quality work.
- Promote and ensure occupational safety standards.
- Interact with vendors for quotes and regulatory compliance.
- Perform electrical, plumbing, piping, machining, welding, and pump servicing.
- Troubleshoot alarms and provide preventive maintenance for winery systems.
- Maintain shop machines, tools, and facilities.
- Demonstrate and promote safe behavior and practices.
- Operate electrical test equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.
- Provide general facility maintenance and routine inspections.
What You Will Need:
- High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associates degree or 2-year Technical Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Maintenance and Repair plus 3 years of maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, production, industrial mechanical or automotive environment.
- Required to complete and maintain certifications as assigned.
- Depending on work location may be required to work a rotating shift/schedule throughout the year (day, swing, graveyard, 5x8, 4x10); required to work weekends and overtime when necessary.
- Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
- Required to conduct work at heights.
- Required to lift and carry tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Required to work in a tight and confined space.
- Required to provide own basic hand tools.
- Experienced in reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Experienced in writing simple correspondence and procedures.
- Knowledge of basic electrical concepts.
- Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel at a basic level.
- Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. What Will Set You Apart:

- Industrial trade experience to include Refrigeration and HVAC.
- Project management experience.
- Basic understanding of PLC's.
- Experience with maintenance management software; data entry and basic PLC troubleshooting skills.
- Skilled in forklift and aerial lift operation.
- Experience working in a food and beverage manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of drinking water and waste water systems.
- Experience maintaining and repairing large production equipment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Compensation:
- Hiring Range Posted: $37.98 / hr - $51.25 / hr
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
