ABOUT THE JOB

The Manager, Capital Sourcing and Contracting will oversee the procurement process for capital goods, such as equipment, machinery, and infrastructure within MU Health Care. Responsible for managing sourcing activities, negotiating contracts, and building relationships with suppliers and vendors.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Develop and implement sourcing strategies to identify reliable suppliers of

capital goods that meet quality standards and cost-effectiveness. Conduct market research, supplier evaluations, and stay updated with industry trends to make informed sourcing decisions.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors of

capital goods. Collaborate with them to understand their capabilities, negotiate favorable terms and conditions, and ensure timely delivery of goods. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or disputes that may arise.

Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and

conditions for the procurement of capital goods. Negotiate pricing, warranties, delivery schedules, and other contractual terms to protect the interests of the organization. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Manage the RFP process for capital projects. Work closely with internal

stakeholders, such as engineering teams or project managers, to define project requirements and specifications. Develop and issue RFPs, evaluate vendor proposals, and make recommendations based on technical, financial, and contractual considerations.

Collaborate with finance and budgeting teams to develop procurement budgets for capital projects. Monitor and control costs throughout the procurement process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favorable pricing to optimize procurement expenses.

Establish performance metrics and evaluation processes to assess supplier

performance. Regularly review supplier performance against agreed-upon metrics and address any issues or non-compliance. Foster continuous improvement by providing feedback and guidance to suppliers.

Oversee the entire lifecycle of capital contracts, from contract creation and

execution to contract renewal or termination. Ensure that contracts are properly documented, tracked, and maintained. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure contract compliance and manage any contractual disputes that may arise.

Identify and mitigate risks associated with capital sourcing and contracting

activities. Assess supplier capabilities, quality standards, and financial stability to minimize potential risks. Stay updated with industry regulations

and standards related to capital goods procurement.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as project managers, engineers, and finance teams, to understand their capital needs and requirements. Align sourcing and contracting strategies with project timelines and objectives. Provide guidance and support to ensure procurement activities support project goals.

Stay informed about advancements in technology, industry best practices, and market trends related to capital goods sourcing. Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains. Implement appropriate tools, systems, and strategies to streamline procurement processes.

Manage the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing

schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care.

Monitor and oversee time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely approval for payroll purposes.

May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department

documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, or an

equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

Five (5) years of progressive supply chain or relevant healthcare experience including developing and executing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, finance, improvement, or analytics.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring

department.
