About Us:
Join our dynamic team at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a Physician Assistant or an APRN in the Medical Progressive Care Unit (MPCU), a 21-bed, high-acuity step-down unit caring for critically ill adult medical patients. The Department of Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work collaboratively as a member of an Advanced Practice (AP) team in Hospital Medicine, providing comprehensive care to medically complex patients across both the intermediate care unit and the general medicine floor, with a focus on managing acute and chronic conditions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality care in a progressive care setting renowned for its commitment to excellence in healthcare.

Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts that may include Nights, Weekends, and Holidays



Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, and implement patient care plans in the Medical Progressive Care Unit.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and diagnostic tests, to facilitate timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice standards and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research activities to advance the standard of care in the MPCU.



Requirements:



  • Current licensure in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Maryland.
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program or MSN, DNP with an Acute Care NP.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a progressive care or similar acute care setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with a commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Salary Range: Minimum $53.15/hour - Maximum $82.38/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
