Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Senior Analyst, Forecasting will be responsible for developing and managing comprehensive forecasting models and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making to management, to meet their specific needs to make informed recommendations and decisions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Participates in the annual budget planning process, providing forecast information and support
  2. Develops and maintains financial forecasting models that require advanced or specialized knowledge, to predict business performance, including revenue, expenses, and other key financial metrics
  3. Collects and aggregates data from different enterprise modules and sources
  4. Performs detailed data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform long-term planning and short-term operational decisions where a mix of standard procedures and fact finding initiative is required
  5. Creates and updates reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate forecast results to management
  6. Collaborates with various departments (including AIR, HR, Accounting, and Payroll) to gather data and ensure the accuracy and relevance of forecasting assumptions
  7. Monitors and assesses the accuracy of forecasted results against actual performance, recommending adjustments to improve forecasting accuracy
  8. Provides guidance and technical leadership to others in providing financial insights and recommendations for improving performance, reducing costs, and optimizing resources
  9. Acts as a Subject matter expert in the design and data collection implementation processes used in systems to improve forecasting efficiency and reliability
  10. Continuously evaluates and improves forecasting methodologies and tools to ensure best practices are utilized
  11. Responsible for other reasonable related duties, as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree
Salary

Hiring salary range is $72,821-$83,745

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
