General Description:
The ideal Chemical/Gas Handler II will be a multi-faceted individual with experience in the basic principles of proper semiconductor chemistry and gas handling. The selected candidates should possess the ability to read, understand, and follow written & verbal instruction, basic drawing & installation diagrams, and all safety protocols. They must be able to work independently, under light supervision, and have a proven ability to follow process & operational policies, while performing more advanced tasks, services, and repairs related to chemical & gas inventory management, the bulk filling of chemistries, gas cylinder replacements & ordering, and gas cabinet operation & troubleshooting. Some of these tasks include, but are not limited to, keeping the cleanroom inventory stocked to match daily/shift consumption rates, bulk filling chemistries as needed, recording volatile organic compound (VOC) usage rates, managing an accurate inventory of chemistry, precursors, & gases, creating work instructions (as needed) to complete all required job related duties, delivering chemicals when requested, training incoming Chemical/Gas Handlers, and handling 1-off chemical and/or gas related requests and/or tasks as needed.
Essential Duties:
Maintain chemical & gas inventory in support of a Class 10(ISO-4) Cleanroom environment
Order chemicals and gases as needed to support manufacturing requirements
Establish and maintain lines of communication with EES Engineers and Vendors to ensure all potential risks (chemical/gas inventory depletion, gaps/delays in delivery, etc.) are identified and communicated to management as they are noted
Work with Process & EES Engineers to ensure back-up suppliers/vendors have been identified and approved for all chemicals and gases
Perform bulk filling of chemistries and replacement of gas cylinders as needed
Maintain an accurate inventory and min/max levels for all chemicals and gases required to support cleanroom and surrounding labs
Work with inventory analyst (IA) to ensure all job-related consumables have been identified and stocked with sufficient min/max levels established for each
Record and track VOC measurements, gas cylinder pressures, and chemistry levels as required, responding to any low-level alarms/warning quickly and effectively
Troubleshoot basic failures related to gas cabinets/manifold failures, canister depressurization events, etc.
Train other Chemical/Gas Handlers on new procedures and policies as needed
Ensure all areas of responsibility (gas bunker, chem storage rooms, cleanroom chem cabinets, etc.) remain clean and organized
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills:
Must be a self-starter and with the ability to work under little supervision
Proficient in the basic principles of safe semiconductor chemistry (Solvents, Acids) and gas (Argon, Silane, etc.) handling & storage
Must be respirator capable (fully trained is a plus)
Ability to accurately capture and report on current chemical and gas inventory levels
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel)
Must be an effective communicator with a proven track record of training others
Must be willing to work in confined spaces and have both visual and hearing acuity
Required Education:
AS degree and minimum of 1 year experience or,
2-3 years of equivalent experience (Equivalent may consist of trade school experience, military background, or OEM training on relevant equipment)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in an ISO Class 4 cleanroom and facility equipment rooms
Must be able to lift/push/pull 25-30 pounds consistently
Must be able to stand, walk & stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
Compensation:
The range for this full-time position is $31.54 - $38.48 per hour + bonus + benefits.
