Phoenix Defense is seeking applicants for Simulation Maintenance Tech III positions at Marana, AZ. This position is in support of the UH-60 BHMT, UH-72A SFTS, UH-72A VMT devices on the Warfighter-Training Readiness Solutions Program (W-TRS). This position is contingent upon contract award. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute proficient troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of aircraft training devices
- Inspecting aircraft training devices for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
- Providing technical direction to less experienced technicians, troubleshooting problems, and performing root cause analysis of failures
- Uphold documentation standards, ensuring complete and updated aircraft maintenance records
- Demonstrate leadership by guiding teams through aircraft training device maintenance tasks
- Effectively prioritize workload, ensuring organized and timely completion of assigned projects
- Maintaining and repairing various aircraft training device components
- Understanding and applying information from manuals, service bulletins, and technical data
- Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all safety regulations
- Perform periodic inspections on devices as determined by the OEM and local policy
- Create, update and close maintenance records of the work performed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years related experience or associate's degree with 7 years of experience or 11 years' experience in related field of work assignment
- A minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience in aircraft training device maintenance
- Proficiency with specialized testing equipment
- Intermediate knowledge of aircraft training devices, components, and maintenance procedures
- Experience in connector repair and electrical troubleshooting
- Advanced mechanical aptitude with hand tools, power tools, and other mechanical equipment
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Must have a minimum of 10+ years demonstrated progressive competence in performing electronic troubleshooting
- Must have working knowledge of simulators sub-systems with specialized training in AH64, UH60, CH47 flight control and communications systems (Apache, Blackhawk, Chinook)
- Extended experience in mainframe computers, linkage, visual, display, hydraulics, and related military discipline
- Must have 6 years' experience supporting simulations devices
- Must be familiar with military complex maintenance procedure and supply actions
- Must be able to perform soldering requirement in accordance to MIL STD 2000 certification standards
- US SECRET Security Clearance
- A foundational understanding of electrical theory
- Extensive familiarity with specialized tools, including but not limited to, test equipment, torque wrenches, and dial indicators
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Obtain/maintain a valid state driver's license and installation driving privileges
