IT Program & Project Management applies Information Technology knowledge and experience to plan, organize, and control resources, procedures, and timing for complex projects within the Information Technology function. This family organizes project teams, establishes project schedules and individual responsibilities, and determines resource requirements. This job family manages project budgets and reports on the status of project cost, timing and staffing. IT Program & Project Management also ensures adherence to internal external quality standards and integrates vendor tasks and deliverables into project plans.

Job Summary

The Director, IT Program/Project Management is a key leader in the IT Project Management Office, overseeing a portfolio of IT projects, and ensuring strategic alignment with organizational goals. This leadership role ensures that all IT programs and projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while driving consistency in project management practices across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the IT PMO strategy, ensuring alignment with the broader objectives of the enterprise
  • Develop and implement PMO policies, standards, methodologies, and tools to support project execution and governance
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to assess project risks, dependencies, and resource allocation
  • Monitor and report on project performance metrics, including scope, budget, schedule, and quality
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project and program managers
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery, resource utilization, and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Facilitate communication across departments and executive leadership on project status, risks, and escalations
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with contract and performance requirements
  • Support change management and organizational readiness initiatives related to IT transformation efforts
  • Persuades others into agreement in sensitive situations while maintaining positive relationships
  • Create a multiyear execution plan, stakeholder engagement and budget & forecasting
  • Manage, mentor and coach workstream PMO resources
  • Engage with stakeholders to mitigate risks and maintain scope
  • Successful integration and deployment of program with the following focus:
    o Provide portfolio reporting and oversight
    o Identify escalations and resolutions
    o Apply agile concepts

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in IT project/program management, with at least 5 years in a people leader role preferred
  • Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Proven experience managing large-scale IT programs and cross-functional teams
  • PMP or similar certification preferred

  • Consults with management to determine project objectives with long-term implications
  • Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues
  • Anticipated salary range: $114,200-$184,300
