Coordinates admissions for out-of-state referrals to organizational programs. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Provides safe and effective services
  • Adheres to policies related to safety and boundaries with service recipients.
  • Attends safety and abuse risk management training as assigned.
  • Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising service recipients.
  • Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  • Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
Coordinates youth admissions and contract activities for new out-of-state referral sources
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations for applications and individuals seeking acceptance into the Boys Town continuum.
  • Communicates in a timely fashion potential placement to appropriate staff; communicates acceptance, rejection, or need for information for all new applications to referral sources.
  • Coordinates pre-admission interviews with youth, parents, agencies, and court personnel; advises, counsels, and coordinates the completion of the admissions process with agencies and courts.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with referral sources including courts and state agencies to ensure that Boys Town is the agency of choice for placement of children.
  • Initiates and coordinates the completion of contractual and financial agreements regarding youth placement; communicates information regarding potential placements to appropriate key staff.
  • Promotes and develops new contracts with state and county agencies and courts.
  • Coordinates contractual development activities to ensure efficient management of all contract activities.
  • Conducts training and education with contractors regarding Boys Town programs.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with courts, county, and state agencies to secure funding for youth referred to Boys Town programs.
  • Attends workshops and conferences as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to youth care.
  • Knowledge of the Boys Town Model.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization and with external business contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to adapt responses to situations while maintaining procedural and regulatory integrity.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, including experience with courts and state agencies required.
  • Available for extensive overnight travel out of the local area required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in direct care services and working with courts or state agencies preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set-up.
