Senior Business Development Manager (ED)

Job purpose

Oversee corporate relationships, contracts, and profitability in partnership with the WPI leadership team. Design and implement corporate sales initiatives with guidance from executive leadership. Work closely with Regional Directors to expand market share for WPI's services and products. Negotiate new partnerships and business alliances within the oil and gas production and processing sector.

Duties Responsibilities



  • Maintain a strong understanding of products and services, and apply innovative new ways to serve business
  • Collaborate with sales and account teams to ensure requirements are met, such as regional sales targets and profit goals
  • Communicate with the WPI Regional teams on products and services opportunities in their respective areas.
  • Create business development strategies, identify resistance, and direct new business opportunities from concept through customer acknowledgement
  • Strong focus on major project sales i.e., compressor revamps, power generation and maintenance agreements
  • Identifies and targets strategic new markets, with focus on new customers
  • Monitor market trends and conditions and develop insights and strategies to benefit from changing market and/or customer business needs
  • Regularly provide updates on progress of business cases and projects to senior management


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in business or applied discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Business Development role
  • Have a strong interest in a business role and the desire to develop and/or demonstrate commercial skills, including customer relationship management, team consensus building, contract negotiations and the ability to close deals


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Strong financial skills critical for proposal and business development
  • Ability to build and maintain good client relationships
  • Operational knowledge of natural gas compression and power generation
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
