Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College is accepting applications for a Library Technician. This position supports the daily operations of the library. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and committed to fostering a welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff.General Responsibilities: *Manage circulation activities, including check-in/check-out of library materials and reserve items. *Monitor and process overdue items, billing notices, and circulation statistics; generate related reports. *Verify patron eligibility and assist users with locating materials, printing, and using library equipment. *Respond to security gate alarms and ensure proper usage of library facilities. *Provide oversight in the absence of other professional staff by following established procedures and contacting appropriate personnel in emergencies. *Process library materials such as books, audiovisual items, periodicals, and equipment. *Maintain and process serials, archive materials, and discard items as necessary. *Assist with inventory and shelf maintenance, including shelving, reshelving, shelf reading, and organization. *Maintain and organize supplies and handouts for the library. *Collect and input assistance statistics into the library's database for internal reporting. *Assist with interlibrary loan material handling. *Maintain photocopiers, including monitoring supplies, requesting service, and tracking usage. *Monitor and report building maintenance issues such as lighting, leaks, cleaning, alarms, and temperature control. *Manage library mailings and maintain supply inventories. *Assist with opening and closing the library. *Evening hours and travel to other UA-PTC locations may be required. *Perform other related duties as assigned Exhibit positive interpersonal and communications skills when working with students, faculty, staff, and supervisor; no more than two documented complaints on file per rating period.
