Construction and project safety oversight professional needed to support Sr. HSE Manager with on-site construction, project, general safety and compliance oversight. Located in Louisville, KY, this role will report on site to the clients manufacturing/distillery operation and surrounding regional locations.

What this job involves -This position is responsible for assisting the Sr. HSSE Manager in all EHS activities for the site with a focus on construct and project management safety oversight. This involves creating, implementing, and updating site-wide health, safety, environmental, and programs, policies, procedures, and training. Specific programs include but are not limited to - risk assessments, incident and accident prevention and investigations, safety inspections, minimization and/or elimination of health and safety hazards, emergency management, crisis management, environmental, EHS program and policy management, and proactive loss prevention activities. The EHS associate is responsible for ensuring all safety precautions are carried out correctly. Along with this, the EHS associate is also responsible for other job duties as follows:

• Lead EHS construction and project management safety oversight

• Liaison with contractors and support ongoing project EHS assessments, audits and field inspections

• Coordinate and review regulatory permits and regulatory submissions

• Monitor EHS management system data to measure injury and illness trends and work with site personnel to recognize and manage improvement opportunities to prevent negative trends.

• Learn hazard identification and risk assessments that apply to task, departments, and the overall site that includes but is not limited to - chemical use, machine safeguarding, ergonomics, walking-working surfaces, material handling, etc., to reduce the risk and prevent work-related injuries and illnesses.

• Maintenance of safety equipment and supplies including but not limited to weekly/monthly inspections, calibrations, and certifications where applicable; Testing and checking eyewash stations, showers, and fire extinguishers

• Assist with EHS audits, inspections, hazard assessments, accident investigations, and CAPAs in EHS management system.

• Assistance with implementing training programs EHS safety policies, and practices,

• Coordinate employee safety benefit programs

• Facilitation of EPA, RCRA, MNDR posting of records in EHS management system and assistance with the environmental filing

Desired experience and technical skills -

Required:

• Construction Safety experience

• Knowledgeable about regulatory topics (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI, FDA, GMP, etc)

• MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, SharePoint

• Willingness to undertake and implement agreed personal development

• Bachelor of Science or related experience

Preferred:

• Construction and project oversight leadership

• Preferred experience with environmental, and safety-related regulatory compliance

• High levels of interdepartmental collaboration
