Position Description

Develops logistics plans for the delivery and distribution of products ensuring product arrives complete, on time and in a cost effective manner. Manages appropriate records, analyzes reports and executes logistics activities for internal and external customers. Leverages reports and metrics to identify areas for continuous improvement across the shipping process to help decrease costs and improve service.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Ensures complete and accurate delivery of all shipments, provides visibility to internal customers, and measures logistics partners to key performance indicators
  2. Develops and implements logistics plans affecting the delivery and distribution of products
  3. Works with logistics provider, other departments to understand needs, identify opportunities for continuous improvement processes and service to drive down cost
  4. Evaluates logistic charges, analyzes data and produces summary reports and reviews with customers
  5. Owns Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) creation and updates as needed
  6. Maintains department shipment data and records, runs monthly report, identifies trends and opportunities for cost savings
  7. Performs some lead responsibilities which may include: training, assigning and/or reviewing work, providing guidance and overseeing work flow of unit
  8. Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of the principles of transportation and logistics
  • Comprehensive experience with Microsoft office suite of products, Google Applications, and other software associated with assigned work
  • Well-developed knowledge of ERP systems like SAP
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate and interact with diverse groups of people
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to manage complex situations promptly and professionally
  • Ability to successfully manage projects, meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or related field, or equivalent education and experience
Experience Requirements
  • Five years experience in logistics, transportation or supply chain or related field
