Department:Fire Rescue Department Organizational Unit:Emergency Medical Services Operations Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time Open Until Filled. This position is appointive service/Grant Funded $2,625.59 to $2,888.15 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Rockledge/Timothy J. Mills Fire Rescue Center. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and may include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Performs experienced professional work coordinating the Mental Health, Substance Use and Opioid Use Provider Essential Functions through the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Community Health Resources Program. Work includes performing home visits to discuss community health resources, reviewing patient care reports, reviewing employee's health data, following up with patients and employees after initial care and arranging resources for continuity of care, providing countywide health and wellness services to both the community and field members, and participating in community health outreach programs and education. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Medical Services, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field PLUS five (5) years of experience in emergency services. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess documentation of successful completion of Community Health Resource Program (CHRP) training through an approved agency. Must possess a current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification, issued in accordance with the requirements of Florida Statute 401.27 and Florida Administrative Code (FAC) 64-E, and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must possess a current valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an approved agency and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must possess a current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved agency and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must successfully pass both a written and medical exam. Must be of good moral character, as determined by a local Clerk of Court, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) criminal background investigation. Must be able to successfully pass a Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check administered by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office (BCSO). Must have fingerprints on file with Brevard County and/or the State Fire Marshal. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
