Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Patent Paralegal to join our Intellectual Property group. The successful candidate will have a background in patent law and will offer specialized support to the Patent Department.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Has familiarity with U.S. Patent & Trademark Office procedures.
  • Effectively operates patent-specific technology tools such as patent docketing software, patent searching software, and the USPTO's Patent Center.
  • Has strong knowledge of patent prosecution, including US and foreign.
  • Prepares and files patent application materials and other related documents as needed.
  • Corresponds with clients and/or associates regarding filings, ongoing prosecution actions, status updates, and requirements for active patent matters.
  • Performs patent searches and produces relative reports.
  • Records assignments, licenses, name changes, and other agreements.
  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A minimum of three years' experience as a patent prosecution paralegal in a law firm or corporation is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree or an Associate degree and paralegal certificate are preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both oral and written) are essential.
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, is required.

The salary range for this position varies by geographical market. In Minneapolis, the estimated starting compensation range is between $29.33/hour to $37.33/hour. The compensation offered will be dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, education, professional background, overall qualifications, and geographic market location.
