Summary of Job Duties:The Office of Records and Registration at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a qualified and motivated Graduate Assistant (GA) to help with various projects, including assisting with curriculum, catalog maintenance and project efforts (with students, staff, and faculty). Initiative and self-direction are essential for this GA appointment. This is a paid position. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

The department will work with the GA to create a work schedule around their course schedule each semester, within office hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) Once this schedule is agreed upon, the GA is expected to keep that schedule for the duration of the term unless an agreed-upon adjustment is made. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education;

  • Regular admission to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or good standing with the UA Little Rock Graduate School for continuing graduate students;

  • Ability to work required hours (FT- 50% 20 hours per week /PT- 25%- 10 hours per week) with regular attendance.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (and/or currently pursuing Master's degree) in Communications, Marketing, Technology, Professional and Technical Writing, or related field preferred;

  • HTML proficiency;

  • WordPress and Acalog experience;

  • Familiarity with Adobe, MS Office Suites;

  • Experience with design software such as Canva or InDesign.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with curricular and catalog maintenance;

  • Work as needed on special projects and see them through to completion;

  • Regularly meet with Registrar/Associate Registrar;

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to understand complex systems related to curricular and catalog maintenance;

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and take charge of special projects;

  • Ability to self motivate and work independently as well as within a team with a goal-oriented approach;

  • Organizational and punctual skills required;

  • Ability to eagerly learn and continually improve processes and procedures;

  • Ability to accept and respond to constructive feedback;

  • Ability to effectively perform research;

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills;

  • Maintain professional behavior and appearance.
