Your Impact
As a Communications Coordinator for the Publishing team, you'll join a group of publishing professionals within the McKinsey Global Publishing (MGP) team, which is part of the firm's Reach and Engagement function. Our publishing team focuses on supporting McKinsey authors to develop powerful editorial products that will engage the firm's diverse global audience. You'll work with experienced McKinsey colleagues from around the world to develop and publish distinctive content across an array of digital and print platforms.
As a Communications Coordinator, you will provide key communications, administrative, and organizational support to the Global Publishing Function. The day-to-day management you provide is critical in supporting the Firm's ambitious publishing goals.
You will:
  • Monitor and manage the McKinsey Reprints inbox, including timely handling of requests for permission to republish or reprint an article or excerpted exhibit, or use of video
  • Monitor and manage the McKinsey.com Customer Support inbox including timely handling of incoming requests for password reset, deletion of accounts etc., that are time sensitive
  • Assist in the planning and running monthly Global Publishing meetings, including coordinating meeting schedules, sending calendar invitations, managing pre- and post-reads, and providing real-time support for presenters on the call
  • Support the execution of people and talent initiatives, including but not limited to onboarding new team members, maintaining the group's org chart, organizing and overseeing the logistics for team events, and analyzing and drafting takeaways for employee engagement surveys
  • Manage all Global Publishing team spending and expense submissions
  • Manage Global Publishing's subscriptions to external publications and resources (eg, newspapers, magazines, style guides) including renewal payments and expense processing
  • Work closely with T&E colleagues to maintain and manage activities related to physical distribution of the McKinsey Quarterly, the firm's flagship publication, including single-distribution channels (to clients) and bulk distribution (via McKinsey offices), liaising with our printer in Chicago
  • Help manage author survey data collection and assist with reporting efforts to gauge content impact and procure author feedback
  • Help manage relationships with external agencies (eg, vendors that provide editorial, production, and data-visualization support), ensuring contracts and NDAs are current and accessible if needed
Your Growth
You are someone who thrives in a high-performance environment, bringing a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit to tackle meaningful challenges that have a real impact.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities to help you quickly broaden your expertise, grow into a well-rounded professional, and contribute to work that truly makes a difference.
When you join us, you will have:
  • Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture, backed by structured programs, is all about helping you grow while creating an environment where feedback is clear, actionable, and focused on your development. The real magic happens when you take the input from others to heart and embrace the fast-paced learning experience, owning your journey.
  • A voice that matters: From day one, we value your ideas and contributions. You'll make a tangible impact by offering innovative ideas and practical solutions. We not only encourage diverse perspectives, but they are critical in driving us toward the best possible outcomes.
  • Global community: With colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 different nationalities, our firm's diversity fuels creativity and helps us come up with the best solutions. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to learn from exceptional colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Exceptional benefits: In addition to a competitive salary (based on your location, experience, and skills), we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, mental health, and vision coverage for you, your spouse/partner, and children.
Your qualifications and skills
  • Bachelor's/university degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in print and/or digital publishing for an English-language business publication or at a professional-services firm

  • Strong communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a low-structure environment and to deal with ambiguity; willingness to proactively seek guidance
  • Positive attitude, collaborative working style, and team orientation
