Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges-the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place.
Your Impact
As an Editor/Producer for Podcasts, you'll join a group of publishing professionals within the Global Publishing team, which is part of the Firm's Reach and Engagement function. Our publishing team focuses on supporting authors to develop powerful editorial products that will make an impact on our many audiences.
You'll work with highly-skilled McKinsey colleagues - typically senior consultants and industry/functional experts - from around the world to develop and publish distinctive content across digital and print platforms. As an editor, you'll become fluent in McKinsey's production-related processes and resources, with strong editing, fact-checking, and content management support to build publishing efforts.
You will be a member of the Audience Development & Innovation team. You will work with editors and subject matter experts (including senior McKinsey partners and corporate executives) to create engaging, informative podcasts for external publication. Your primary focus will be The McKinsey Podcast, McKinsey Talks Talent, At the Edge, and other projects as needed.
You will act as a thought-partner and service provider (e.g., line editor, producer), working with McKinsey authors (i.e., typically senior consultants and industry/functional experts) and other editors to identify topics of interest to a global business audience, schedule and participate in pitch meetings, conduct research, develop persuasive storylines, prepare partner interviewees and hosts with talking points, and run recording sessions. You will review and edit content that rigorously follows conventions of written English and ensure consistency of voice/tone/style and alignment with Firm style and risk/reputation guidelines, working with stakeholders to discuss and develop changes.
You will work on editorial publications and programs, coordinating with relevant McKinsey publishing groups and stakeholders, to ensure projects are completed, approved, and published to deadline. You will lead projects/workstreams independently or with designated team, aligning with key stakeholders as relevant, advancing relevant goals for publishing. You will stay up-to-date on business news and trends, as well as the Firm's research, to ensure communications are in touch with current public discussion/research and aligned with the Firm's position and drive engagement across platforms. You may be asked to engage in additional ad hoc email and other editorial projects.
Your Growth
You are someone who thrives in a high-performance environment, bringing a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit to tackle meaningful challenges that have a real impact.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities to help you quickly broaden your expertise, grow into a well-rounded professional, and contribute to work that truly makes a difference.
When you join us, you will have:
  • Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture, backed by structured programs, is all about helping you grow while creating an environment where feedback is clear, actionable, and focused on your development. The real magic happens when you take the input from others to heart and embrace the fast-paced learning experience, owning your journey.
  • A voice that matters: From day one, we value your ideas and contributions. You'll make a tangible impact by offering innovative ideas and practical solutions. We not only encourage diverse perspectives, but they are critical in driving us toward the best possible outcomes.
  • Global community: With colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 different nationalities, our firm's diversity fuels creativity and helps us come up with the best solutions. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to learn from exceptional colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Exceptional benefits: In addition to a competitive salary (based on your location, experience, and skills), we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, mental health, and vision coverage for you, your spouse/partner, and children.
Your qualifications and skills
  • Bachelors/University degree or equivalent required
  • 7+ years of experience in all steps of creating podcasts (ideation, editorial, audio editing, audio mixing, etc.), preferably for an English-language business publication or professional-services firm
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) and team share tools (e.g., Box, Slack, Zoom)
