Job Summary

The Regional Category Manager will execute the end-to-end category strategy for CCL & PP, key raw materials essential to PCB manufacturing. This role focuses on optimizing costs, ensuring supply continuity, and aligning regional procurement strategies with global category objectives. The RCM will collaborate closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and global stakeholders to mitigate risks, leverage market opportunities, and support innovation in the NA PCB supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Category Leadership

- Develop and execute regional strategies for CCL&PP sourcing, aligned with global category management goals.

- Analyze market dynamics (e.g., copper pricing, resin availability, geopolitical factors) to forecast risks and opportunities.

- Drive cost-saving initiatives (VAVE, supplier negotiations, TCO analysis) while maintaining quality standards.

2. Supplier Relationship & Risk Management

- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve quality, delivery, and performance issues with suppliers in a timely and effective manner.

- Lead regional supplier negotiations for CCL&PP contracts, including replenishment programs (consignment, VMI, JIT), MOQs, and payment terms with a focus on cost, quality, and delivery reliability.

- Build strategic partnerships with key NA and global suppliers to secure capacity, innovation, and exclusivity for critical materials.

- Monitor supplier performance (OTD, quality, sustainability) and implement corrective actions for underperformers.

- Mitigate supply chain risks (e.g., raw material shortages, logistics disruptions) through dual sourcing, inventory buffers, and contingency planning.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with NA Manufacturing/Operations to align material specifications, demand forecasts, and inventory strategies.

- Work with R&D/Engineering to evaluate new CCL&PP materials and support qualification of alternative suppliers.

- Collaborate with Global Category Management to harmonize regional strategies with global standards and leverage scale.

- Coordinate communications between TTM sites and global category managers to ensure consistency and clarity.

- Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making and improve supply chain processes.

4. Cost Management

- Manage cost savings for CCL&PP categories, including budgeting, cost tracking, and variance analysis.

- Develop should-cost models and benchmark pricing against market trends to ensure competitiveness.

- Report savings achievements and ROI for procurement initiatives to senior leadership.

5. Market Intelligence & Innovation

- Monitor trends in PCB raw materials (e.g., high-frequency materials, halogen-free laminates) and regulatory shifts (e.g., RoHS, REACH).

- Identify emerging suppliers and technologies to enhance product performance or sustainability.

- Provide insights to stakeholders on material availability, pricing forecasts, and competitive threats.

6. Compliance & Sustainability

- Ensure suppliers comply with environmental, ethical, and quality standards (e.g., UL certification, conflict-free sourcing).

- Drive sustainability initiatives (e.g., recycled content, carbon footprint reduction) in collaboration with global teams.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field. MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.

- Experience:

- 8-10+ years in strategic procurement/category management, specifically in PCB, electronics manufacturing, or chemical/materials industries.

- Deep expertise in managing CCL& PP, copper foil, or other PCB-related raw materials.

- Proven track record in supplier development, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.

- Technical Skills:

- Understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and material specifications (e.g., Tg, dielectric constant).

- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), spend analytics tools, and MS Suite.

- Soft Skills:

- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and data-driven decision-making.

- Ability to translate technical requirements into commercial terms.

- Travel: 25-50% (supplier visits, manufacturing sites, industry events).

Preferred Qualifications

- Certification in CPSM, CSCP, or CPIM.

- Experience with global supply chains and cross-cultural supplier management.

- Knowledge of advanced PCB materials (e.g., high-speed/high-frequency laminates).

- Bilingual (English/Mandarin or another language) to engage with global suppliers. #LI-EC1

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that my be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
