Join a caring team supporting Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla as a Medical Staff Coordinator in the Medical Staff department. You'll be on the front line for creating a positive Scripps Health experience for our patients while being responsible for duties such as the following:



  • Providing administrative and organizational support to the Medical Staff Administration Department and to the medical staff organization.
  • Coordinating, on behalf of the medical staff organization, the development if applicable and/or revisions of their bylaws rules and regulations policies procedures, and privileging criteria.
  • Supporting medical staff leadership in conducting their meetings management and reviews of credentialing files peer review and reviews of OPPE (ongoing professional practice evaluations) and FPPE (focused professional practice evaluations) including proctoring.
  • Assisting in the coordination of the continuing medical education (CME) program for the medical staff organization.
  • Maintaining responsibility and accountability of assigned medical staff sections departments committees and their relationship with the medical staff organization in fulfilling compliance with federal state and local regulatory and or accrediting agencies such as TJC Title 22 and CMS requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Candidate must have at least a minimum of four years of relevant experience preferably in a Medical Staff Services Department or related healthcare experience OR have successfully completed an ABA approved post-graduate paralegal program with hospital internship experience and focus in the area of medical staff law.
  • Current certification(s), or actively pursuing certification for medical staff service professionals, such as CPMSM or CPCS provided through the National Association of Medical Staff Services.
  • Knowledgeable of federal, state and local regulatory accreditation standards related to the medical staff organization.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Current certifications or actively pursing certification for medical staff service professionals such as CPMSM (Certified Provider of Medical Staff Management) or CPCS (Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist) by the National Association of Medical Staff Services. If not currently certified must obtain certification within five years of hire date.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Associate or Bachelors degree highly desirable.
  • Experienced computer user including word processing, spreadsheets, data entry and database systems preferred.
