Description "1 opening for the mid shift from 11am- 7:30pm, they will more than likely train on days. They will be scheduled for 32 hours a week with the possibility to pick up additional shifts. During training they will work 40 hours. This role is in the Emergency Department, so there is a shift premium and it will pay 19.00/hr plus the 1.50 shift premium. Must be able to work every other weekend." 11am- 7:30pm plus EOW and holiday EOW = Every other weekend Location: Detroit, Michigan, 48201, United States Employees will work at the registration area and check in patients. They will register the patient, update information or add them to the system, collect patient demographic, insurance cards and copays. This is an extremely busy area! They are busy all day long. They will move throughout the emergency department and be on their feet! JOB SUMMARY Educates patients about patient financial liabilities, employs proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during & after date of service, performs Hospital cash reconciliation & secured payment entry in adherence to financial & cash control policies & procedures. Secures medical necessity checks/verification in accordance to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services, verifies insurance, benefits, coverage & eligibility, completes assigned registration financial clearance work lists activities, obtains insurance authorizations for scheduled & unscheduled Hospital services, and secures inpatient visit notification to payors. May also assist with scheduling and coordinating post discharge care for patients. Additional Skills & Qualifications Minimum typing skills of 35 wpm * Customer service skills and experience * Ability to work in a fast paced environment * Ability to receive and express detailed information through oral and written communications * Course in Medical Terminology required * Understanding of Third Party Payor requirements Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
