Fishbeck is seeking a talented and motivated Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation team in one of our Ohio offices. Primary Functions
- Lead and support technical design and plan production for transportation projects for ODOT and local agencies.
- Conduct traffic impact studies, safety studies, signal optimization, and traffic forecasting.
- Design traffic control devices, including signals, signage, pavement markings, and maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans.
- Prepare quantities and construction cost estimates.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical proposals.
- Write reports and contribute to marketing efforts.
- Mentor junior staff and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborate with clients, agencies, and internal teams across OH, MI, and IN.
Minimum Physical Requirements
Occasionally exposed to light lifting, sitting, and walking. May perform duties in the field and will be required to access and maneuver around project sites and use a computer. Capable of traveling to and from projects is occasionally required. Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes. Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
Desired Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
Experience & Skills:
- 0-10+ years of experience in traffic engineering (ODOT and local agency projects preferred).
- PE license in Ohio preferred (required for senior-level candidates).
- Proficiency in MicroStation/ORD or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Experience with Synchro, Highway Capacity Software (HCS), and traffic modeling tools.
- Familiarity with ITE Trip Generation Manual, roundabout/RCUT design, and complex MOT design is a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with TransModeler, ITS, and highway lighting design.
