ACARA Solutions and our client in Dedham, MA have a long term contract or contract-to-hire position available for a
Electrical Hardware Design Engineer
Experience in circuit card designs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces.
The position requires candidates to have an active Secret clearance at time of hire.
- As an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer, you will be a key part of a cross-functional team responsible for designing complex and mission-critical systems.
- You will have the opportunity to be involved in all program phases, including requirements analysis, schematic capture, defining routing constraints, directing PCB/PWB layout and routing activities, and supporting the manufacturing, integration & test, and qualification of the hardware system.
- You will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders and customers to develop systems that meet their high expectations.
- In this role, you will primarily support the Cyber business area developing mission computers, sensor processors, and stores management hardware, with opportunities to work across client.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
- The position requires candidates to have an active Secret clearance at time of hire.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in circuit card designs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Master's Degree.
- Designing electrical hardware using the Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition tool suite, high-speed digital and high-density circuit card design incorporating embedded processors or FPGAs, designs using fiber optic interfaces, and advanced working knowledge of lab equipment including oscilloscopes and Ethernet network testers.
- Understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program.
- Knowledge of the schematic entry, constraint manager, and HyperLynx Signal Integrity/Power Integrity analysis.
- Ability to persevere through design challenges with minimal direction.
- Exceptional communication skills with the capacity to drive innovation and secure buy-in on your concepts and idea.
