The McKay lab is seeking a postdoctoral research scientist to study developmental gene regulation. Our research focuses on the role of histone post-translational modifications (PTMs) in epigenetic gene regulation. The successful candidate will apply a combination of Drosophila genetics, genomics, and microscopy to study the role of histone PTMs in gene activation, cellular memory, and Polycomb target gene repression. Prior experience in at least one relevant area is highly preferred. The McKay lab is located in the Genome Sciences Building and is affiliated with the UNC Biology and Genetics Departments, as well as the Integrative Program for Biological and Genome Sciences.

PhD degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

We are seeking candidates who are highly motivated and career-oriented. Candidates must have at least one of the following qualifications, competencies or experience.
* Knowledge of Drosophila husbandry and genetics.
* Chromatin biology.
* Genomics and bioinformatics analysis.
* Live imaging.
* Advanced molecular biology methods.
