Senior Associate, HR Business Partner

Role Overview:

This Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as astrategic advisor supporting Corporate Functionsat New York Life. The HRBP will work closely with senior leaders, managers, and employees to proactively deliver a full spectrum of HR services that align with business priorities. The ideal candidate will demonstratestrong data fluency, aforward-thinking mindset in applying artificial intelligenceto HR processes, and the confidence toadvise and influence senior leadership.

The HRBP will play a critical role in shaping a high-performing, inclusive, and adaptive organizational culture. Key responsibilities include defining talent strategies, leveraging workforce data and analytics, championing innovative HR solutions, and implementing core HR programs in close partnership with centers of excellence.

What You'll Do:

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Act as a proactive HR thought partner to senior leaders, ensuring alignment between workforce strategies and business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and perspective in business planning and organizational design decisions.
  • Build influential relationships at all levels, serving as acredible voice in leadership discussions, and constructively challenging decisions when necessary.

Data & Insights

  • Leverage workforce data and metrics to drive decision-making, diagnose organizational issues, and shape talent strategies.
  • Partner with HR Reporting and Analytics teams to define data needs and ensure reporting is insightful and actionable.

AI & Innovation in HR

  • Explore and promoteinnovative uses of AIand emerging technologies to improve the administration of HR practices, such as talent identification, learning & development, and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pilot and scale AI-driven HR solutions where appropriate.

Core HR Program Delivery

  • Partner with senior leaders and HR centers of excellence todesign, deliver, and adapt core HR programsthat support business strategy, including talent development, workforce planning, performance management, and compensation.
  • Guide leaders through employee matterswith sound judgment-ensuring policies are applied fairly, consistently, and in compliance with legal and internal standards.
  • Lead and facilitatetalent reviews, succession planning, and individual development planningto build a strong leadership pipeline and support ongoing capability growth.
  • Collaborate onstrategic hiring initiatives, aligning recruitment efforts with workforce plans and long-term organizational needs.
  • Support leaders through the annualcompensation planning cycle, offering guidance grounded in internal equity and external market competitiveness.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or HR certifications (SHRM, PHR) desirable.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience as a Business Partner supporting senior-level stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in adata-driven HR environment, leveraging analytics and insights to guide decisions.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and aptitude foremerging HR technologies, particularly the application ofAI.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a record ofbuilding credibility and influencing senior executives.
  • Able to manage complexity, resolve conflicts, and lead through change.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; adept at tailoring messages for various audiences.
  • Broad HR expertise including talent development, performance management, employee relations, and compensation.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$95,000-$125,000

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
