Overview: Job Description Summary: Job Description: Research Scientist, Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus, OH. Work in lab that focuses on Onconephrology & use of biomarkers to identify specific kidney injury phenotypes for targeted therapeutic approaches. Use preclinical models & human samples to dev mitochondrially targeted therapeutic approaches, leveraging tumor & normal cell metabolism differences to protect from chemotherapy & radiation-induced nephrotoxicity w/out protecting tumor cells. Lead projects evaluating & understanding kidney toxicity. Supervise 1-3. Min. req incl: Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Bio or Free Radical & Radiation Biology, plus 1 yr exp evaluating kidney toxicity assoc w/utilization of radiopharmaceuticals in diff preclinical models that resulted in peer review publications & 1 yr exp evaluating tumor responses in diff preclinical models that resulted in peer-reviewed publications.
