Accounting Manager
Lower Fairfield County, CT

Compensation:$140k+ (DOE) and a bonus

Position Summary:
One of Vaco's clients is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will come from a large regional CPA or consulting firm, with strong technical accounting expertise and a growing track toward a leadership role. This person will be a key team member, contributing to financial operations, process improvements, and preparing for future financial growth.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
* Consolidate financial results across business units using Hyperion Essbase.
* Operate as a utility player for financial close, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations across multiple business units.
* Support internal and external audits, manage PBC lists, and provide schedules and support as needed.
* Support financial deliverables related to taxes alongside internal and external team members.
* Identify process improvement opportunities and implement more efficient financial practices.
* Prepare internal financial reporting packages and perform related financial analysis (such as reviewing KPIs and variance explanations) on a monthly basis.
* Support day-to-day operational tasks, including cash management and renewal of financial instruments.
* Provide financial oversight for growing team and aid in developing SOPs.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

* CPAis preferred or a willingness to pursue licensure.

* 5-7 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior or corporate accounting role.

* Public accounting or large consulting background

* Experience in a manufacturing or CPG (inventory) environment is a must.

* Experience with financial consolidations in large, complex organizations.

* Ability to handle broad financial responsibilities with strong technical accounting skills (debits, credits, journal entries).

* Ability to be a high-energy, motivatedteam player with a growth mindset.

* Ability to work autonomously while wearing many hats in a growing company.

* Excellent communication skills - able to collaboratewith various stakeholders.

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-pacedenvironment.

* Strong process improvement orientation.

* Flexible and adaptable - eager to contribute toward growing financial operations.



Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
