Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Associate Research Coordinator.In this role, the Associate Research Coordinator works closely with the Clinical Research Coordinator to coordinate the retrieval, processing and distribution of archival and/or fresh biospecimens for Clinical trials; ensures accurate data entry and management, quality assurance and organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for archival tissue retrieval, processing, storage, and distribution for clinical trialsand research studies.
  • Responsible for specimens inventory and QC prior distribution.
  • Responsible for specimens data entry in database (LabVantage/FileMaker Pro).
  • Assists Clinical Research Coordinator in clinical trials audits
  • Assists Clinical research Coordinator solving queries
  • Provides support to Archival Sr. Res Coordinator on archival research requests
  • Responsible for informing staff about newly activated clinical trials
  • Performs bench work as needed
  • Provides support on drafting Standard Operating Procedures and/or work instructions
  • Delegates data entry for monthly billing on research and clinical studies
  • Maintains a clean, orderly work area within the laboratory.
  • Performs all responsibilities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, CAP accreditation, established guidelines and work instructions, and appropriate industry and Good Clinical Practices standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Provides guidance, cooperates, communicates and relates well to all levels of NYULH staff.
  • Listens carefully to others in order to respond appropriately, answer questions or obtain needed information.
  • Communicates ideas, problems, suggestions, and messages in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all research information.
  • Functions efficiently in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal and communicative skills.
  • Recognizes core laboratory functions.

Judgement/decision-making:

  • Seeks guidance as necessary for the performance of duties, asks appropriate questions whenin doubt and utilizes reference sources/materials to endure accuracy.
  • Advises appropriate personnel of situations/problems requiring intervention or follow-upattention.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in life sciences, allied health or equivalent in a related discipline and 0-1 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Must be able to work under the direction of supervision. Ability to operate research related equipment. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Life Sciences or health-related field with 2+ years of clinical or research laboratory experience. Excellent interpersonal communication both through technology and in person. Good analytical skills to evaluate the importance and urgency of problems, ability to solve non-routine issues. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced setting. Strong organizational skills, as well as patience and steady commitment toward achievement of goals. Strong computer skills (e.g LabVantage, iLab, File Maker Pro, Microsoft Office, EPIC). Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 - $67,246.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
