Summary of This Role
Plans, negotiates, and manages all core and custom application release-related activities, including hot-fixes, patches and planned releases. Coordinates with Project Management to publish deployment and release schedules. Coordinates releases with Technology and Operations. Ensures that issues, dependencies, and risk are identified, understood, and resolved in a manner that mitigates risk to the release scope and schedules. Utilize application release automation tools to manage builds and deployments. Leads and coordinates the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment plan and checklists. Ensures release artifacts are created and published. Maintains repository and documentation of all technology release-related processes.
What Part Will You Play?
- Collects and compiles information from various documentations and sources for deployment readiness assessment reviews. Performs preliminary reviews to ensure eligibility criteria are satisfied to qualify for assessment to proceed to target environments.
- Liaison for deployment related processes and policies with other departments and divisions. Instructs stakeholders on defined practices and addresses general queries. Provides guidance and assistance to team members and other stakeholders.
- Follows established procedures to execute deployment activities of moderate complexity for assigned systems. Follows the escalation process and protocol when problems are encountered.
- Performs routine deployment activities, implementation tasks and backend validations of moderate complexity. Works with various levels of team members across business units to ensure the successful installment of application change assets to all appropriate locations and management of source code. Ensures implementation tasks have been properly completed by other support groups when applicable. May execute moderate risk implementation tasks.
- Performs limited triage to troubleshoot routine problems identified during deployment windows, properly escalating to appropriate members in a timely manner as needed. May utilize problem solving tools to provide input to others for resolving technical issues with deployed assets.
- Assist with the preparation of established Software documentation used for scheduling, tracking, and reporting on deployments. This documentation convey assets deployed, deployment activities, sequence of events, implementation tasks, issues encountered, and problem resolutions.
- Using established and ad hoc processes, gathers and compiles data from multiple sources to be used in deployment assessment and planning meetings for scheduled and exception releases. May assists with documentation and report preparation. Attends client meetings. Adheres to the Release Calendar dates for assigned platforms. Helps to gather data used in the production of the calendar.
- Participates in outage preparation activities and determining the optimal sequence of events to minimize interruptions to user communities and maintain service level agreements. Monitors the code unbundling process and changes being introduced into the Emergency environments.
What Are We Looking For in This Role?
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Experience or Degree in: Major in Computer Science preferred, other majors considered. Willing to accept additional experience in lieu of a degree.

- Working knowledge of concepts and practices applicable to the deployment process. Knowledge of software development process, various applicable operating systems, and software applications preferred. Knowledge of and experience handling assignments that adhere to established standards. Knowledge of PCI requirements and information security related processes. Adheres to all deployment policies and procedures.
- Strong understanding of mainframe technologies and environments
- Core expertise in COBOL, Assembler, and JCL
- Experience in building and deploying software packages in mainframe systems
- Ability to work closely with development teams to ensure smooth release processes
- Experience with Endevor code repository
