Corporate Quality Engineer

The Corporate Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, assisting in complaint resolution, support of quality improvement initiatives and proactive quality data analytics. This role will also interface with Business Leaders supporting Supplier Quality, Product Quality/Quality Control, Customer Quality and continuous improvement teams to improve the sites' processes.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Execute quality improvement roadmap initiatives as prioritized by the annual planning process.
  • Utilize appropriate quality data and statistical analysis from various representative sources (customer, internal and supplier feedback channels) to prioritize activities driving reductions in the cost of poor quality.
  • Identify and lead process improvement projects including facilitating of process improvement events that improve product quality and/or reduce process variation, which include RCCA process for the sites
  • Responsible for creating, publishing, and maintaining analysis, reports, processes, procedures, and standards related to customer claims and other customer facing activities.
  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure good root cause identification and corrective action implementation.
  • Support Customer Complaint, Product failure, and audit root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action implementations
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to complete customer self-audits and surveys, and support product managers and site quality leaders during on-site audits.
  • Support New Product Introductions and Management of Change process for the supplier quality function.
  • Submit Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) to suppliers when customer or internal complaints that are supplier caused necessitate.
  • Lead Supplier quality audits with procurement and follow up on all items identified during the audit.
  • Responsible for supplier specification reviews and assisting procurement in ensuring the supplier meets the supplier specifications.
  • Collaborate with site quality and site leadership to promote best practices between sites.
  • Meet with stakeholders on a regular schedule to review progress of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provides leadership and coaching to Process Quality Technician(s)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Technical field.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience administering quality standard processes
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in Six Sigma and statistical tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Auditing experience required; certified lead auditor preferred.
  • Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid working knowledge of statistics and Minitab.
  • Experience in a chemical industry desired.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification desired.
  • Knowledge of SAP QM functional module, and Master Data

Travel: Up to 25%
