Position Summary:

Sunoco LP is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) Lead Specialist to manage our corporate Learning Management System (LMS) and support compliance and technical training initiatives across the organization. This role is critical in ensuring that all personnel meet regulatory training requirements under DOT, EPA, OSHA, and USCG standards. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of progressive HES experience, with a strong background in technical training, data analytics, regulatory frameworks, and LMS administration.

Major Accountabilities:



  • LMS Management:


    • Administer and optimize the company's Learning Management System to ensure seamless delivery and tracking of training programs.
    • Maintain accurate training records and ensure system integrity for audits and compliance reporting.
    • Leverage system capabilities to automate workflows, generate dashboards, and improve user experience.


  • Compliance & Technical Training Development:


    • Design, develop, and deliver both compliance and technical training programs tailored to operational roles and regulatory requirements.
    • Translate complex regulatory and technical content into engaging, accessible training materials.
    • Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and relevance of training content.


  • Training Delivery & Support:


    • Facilitate instructor-led and virtual training sessions for field and corporate personnel.
    • Provide coaching and support to field trainers and supervisors on effective training delivery methods.
    • Monitor training effectiveness and implement improvements based on feedback and performance metrics.


  • Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:


    • Ensure training programs align with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and USCG regulations.
    • Generate and analyze training reports and compliance metrics using advanced data analytics tools.
    • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement through data-driven insights.


  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:


    • Work closely with HES, Operations, HR, and IT teams to align training initiatives with business and compliance goals.
    • Serve as a resource for technical and compliance training inquiries across the organization.



  • Travel:

    • Occasional travel (approximately 10-20%) to field locations, training sites, and company facilities is required to support training delivery and compliance initiatives.

Qualifications:




  • Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Instructional Design, or related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CSP, CHMM, CIT).
  • Experience Required: Minimum of 8 years in HES roles with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, technical training, and systems management.
  • Technical Skills:


    • Proficiency in LMS platforms (e.g., Cornerstone, SAP SuccessFactors, or equivalent).
    • Strong data analytics skills, including experience with Excel, Power BI, or similar tools for reporting and visualization.
    • Familiarity with systems integration, automation, and digital training platforms.
    • Deep knowledge of DOT, EPA, OSHA, and USCG regulations.


  • Soft Skills:


    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
