Summary: The Powerplant MRO Manager plays a key leadership role in the Chromalloy Material Solutions MRO management organization. This role leads a team of technical powerplant managers charged with oversight of commercial aircraft engine and module maintenance activities. Success is measured by achieving or beating targets for cost, turnaround time and quality. Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain key relationships within MRO shops and engine management customers.
- Effectively lead a team of powerplant managers as a "player/coach". Striving to constantly increase efficiency and performance of engine maintenance management.
- Ensure that all processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met, and that all projects are profitable.
- In close coordination with the appropriate Product Line Managers, lead the development of cost efficient workscopes for the overhaul and repair of engines and modules. Lead the management and evaluation of the workscope change approval process throughout the entire maintenance event.
- Work with Demand Planning to ensure the timely supply of engine parts and track build costs necessary to support the need of the Shop visits.
- Understand and support the records team in the workscoping and records activities.
- Act as a technical contributor during the negotiation of contracts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School or GED plus related aviation technical certification. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive shop and/or shop management experience with any combination of V2500, CFM56-5/7B, CF6-80C2, PW4000 aircraft engines and/or related components.
- Demonstrated record of successfully leading technical teams in a high paced aircraft engine or component part MRO environment.
- Track record of leading teams in the attainment of cost, quality and TAT for MRO activities.
- Expert level knowledge of engine shop processes and tasks.
- Demonstrated commercial creativity and an ability to manage multiple engine assets and workscopes for maximum efficiency and lowest cost.
- Intermediate level skills using MS Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office products.
- Must be able to travel up to 25%
