https://engineering.uark.edu/industrial-engineering/ Summary of Job Duties:The Industrial Engineering Fiscal Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of departmental research centers and fiscal operations, ensuring compliance with university, state, and federal regulations. The Fiscal Manager plays a key role in supporting the department's research and operational goals. Additionally, the Fiscal Manager works closely with the department's distinguished alumni group, the Arkansas Academy of Industrial Engineers (AAIE) to aid in their fiscal management regarding budget and scholarships.

Key Responsibilities:
*Manage, supervise, and reconcile all fiscal operations, including budgets involving state funds, foundation accounts, research centers, and research grants.
*Serve as the primary departmental contact for setting up worktags, performing cost center adjustments, and reconciling accounts.
*Oversee procurement processes including acquisition management, invoicing, travel coordination, and purchasing activities.
*Support the operations of departmental research centers, including effort certifications and budget tracking.
*Assist with data collection and preparation for annual financial reports and audits.
*Maintain scholarship accounts and coordinate the disbursement of scholarship funds to student accounts.
*Assist the department's Operations Manager with minor HR-related tasks as needed, such as onboarding support, coordinating employee documentation, and maintaining confidential records.

Additional duties include event preparation and execution. All department staff contribute to various events and meetings, such as AAIE banquets and meetings, student banquets and receptions, Liaison Committee meeting, and other special gatherings as needed. As such, infrequent after-hours work is required.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, higher education, or closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education

Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.

  • At least three years of experience in financial management, accounting, or budget administration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with grant management, higher education budgets, foundation accounts, or other restricted funds

  • At least five years of experience in a university setting

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial reporting, and account management.

  • Ability to prepare budgets and monitor expenditures.

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Experience with software application programs, database management, and travel tools (e.g., Workday, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Concur, etc.).

  • Ability to apply policies and procedures and other applicable regulations associated with assigned department or program.

  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate activities, resources, and materials
    associated with the needs of the department or program

$56,123.00 - Commensurate with education and experience
