Position Title: Scheduler I

Location of Position: United States -- Wisconsin -- Sturgeon Bay

Position Type: Full-Time; Permanent; Exempt

Reports To: Scheduling Manager

Position Summary: This position is responsible for development, updating, and maintenance of project schedules and associated resource plans at our vast, 63-acre facility. Significant heavy manufacturing takes place both in several fab shops, as well as on the waterfront. The successful candidate will support the 1,000+ working men and women on our waterfront by posting and reporting of schedules and resource plans as required; incorporating and maintaining baseline and performance metrics within project schedule files as required; and adherence to scheduling and resource planning processes, WBS standards and SOPs.

Detailed Description:



  • This job is a learning position with the biggest requirement being to develop skills in Primavera to progress to a more advanced Scheduler role, and develop a basic knowledge of ship construction work flow.
  • Understand and learn basic EVMS (Earned Value Management System) concepts.
  • Update schedules with weekly input from Production and Support Depts.
  • Adds new schedule activities along with all required codes.
  • Print Schedules and Progress reports for distribution to area supervisors/managers
  • Internally communicate with Planning, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Program Management, Marketing, Finance, and Senior Management.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in physical progress reviews in shops and on the waterfront.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office experience preferred)

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized. Able to: concentrate for long periods of time in the face of distraction, apply strong logical and analytical thinking skills, understand spatial and temporal relationships, follow directions, and work independently.
  • Effective communication skills - particularly questioning and listening, to facilitate teamwork with various departments and effect customer satisfaction with internal customers.
  • Basic knowledge of Primavera a plus
  • Knowledge of all common office applications, especially spreadsheet analysis and graphing
