The Position

2025 Fall Intern - US Medical - Field Medical

Department Summary

The US Medical team drives the medical strategy to ensure safe and effective use of our therapies, generate and communicate scientific evidence, and collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to advance patient care. Within this, the Field Medical team serves as the external face of Medical Affairs, engaging with healthcare professionals, researchers, and decision-makers to exchange scientific insights, gather real-world evidence, and inform the broader medical strategy. They play a critical role in translating science into clinical impact by building peer-level relationships, enabling data-driven dialogue, and supporting research and education initiatives.

This internship position is located in South San Francisco, CA, on-site.

The Opportunity

  • Learn how Medical Affairs bridges clinical and commercial teams.

  • Understand medical strategy, scientific communication, and field medical operations.

  • Explore how medical insights inform product development and lifecycle management.

  • Gain insights into patient safety and ethical considerations in research.

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in September (Fall)

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are (Required)

Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:

  • Must have attained a Master's Degree.

  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).

  • Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).

Required Majors: Medical Doctor, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Pharm-D.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Patient and Healthcare system knowledge

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $35 - $45 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
