Founded in 1811, McLean Hospital is the largest psychiatric affiliate of Harvard Medical School and provides cutting-edge, compassionate treatment for mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and substance use disorders, for individuals of all ages. McLean is home to more than 300 neuroscience researchers who offer their expertise to understand the brain on many levels. Over the years, knowledge and insight derived from the work of McLean's neuroscientists has helped to develop effective treatments for conditions, such as; anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, schizophrenia, and neurodegenerative diseases. Role Summary: McLean Hospital is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as President and Chief Operating Officer (PCOO). The PCOO is responsible for the vitality, academic mission, and success of McLean, and serves as the face of McLean to both internal and external communities. The PCOO exemplifies and promotes the strategy and values of Mass General Brigham (MGB) as an integrated healthcare system - emphasizing the role of McLean as an academic psychiatric hospital in meeting the MGB missions of clinical care, research, education, and service to the community. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the world's largest neuroscientific and psychiatric research program in a specialty psychiatric hospital and help drive the strategic direction of behavioral and mental health services within the MGB system. The ideal candidate will possess a robust operations background, a strong grasp of modern psychiatric care, and an innovative mindset to further enhance McLean's position as a leading psychiatric hospital. The PCOO is a leader of people and a developer of talent, dedicated to the career advancement of talented employees at all levels of the hospital.Reporting to the MGB Chief Operating Officer, the PCOO is the senior administrative leader of McLean Hospital, responsible for all aspects of inpatient and outpatient hospital operations, budgeting and operating performance, patient and community relations, capital planning, and all other responsibilities as assigned. With the support of MGB senior leaders, the PCOO works closely with the Chair of the McLean Department of Psychiatry, other system leaders, and the McLean medical and other clinical staff to direct the operations and administration of the hospital. The PCOO partners with the McLean Board of Trustees to deliver the highest quality, safest patient care and engage in philanthropic efforts in support of McLean's mission. Essential Functions:
