Patient Financial Representative

Job Description

Interviews patients to arrange methods of payment or extension of credit, notes decision in patient's charts. Monitors monthly payments/collections, submits pre-authorizations, insurance claims, and monitors payments and accounts receivable. Registers inpatient consults. Pre-visit registration for copay collections and daily deposit of cash/check payments as well as entering insurance and patient's payments received via mail. Pursues insurance missing payments and insurance denials.

This position requires providing service to an age population; young adults to older adults (1865+ yrs), in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

This position requires providing service to the following age population(s) newborn to elderly in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

Education/Training/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in all phases of physician billing is required. Including but not limited to charge entry, claims processing, payment posting, and the appeal/resubmission process for rejections and follow-up.

Excellent organizational skills required.
