Genesis10 is currently looking for a Solution Architect IT V for a 6 month contract role for our client in Minneapolis, MN. This role is 100% remote.

Summary:

Client is engaged in an exciting Cloud Transformation Program which will migrate and transform on-premises applications to the cloud to improve scalability, flexibility, cost efficiency, and performance. The Solution Architect will join the POD team, which is responsible for current state analysis and future state architecture of the 400+ applications Client will be moving from on-prem to cloud. This POD team is responsible for using client's Cloud Application Patterns and technology standards to determine a cloud direction for each application for cloud readiness. From a program standpoint, the POD team will be involved in: Defining current state and future state for the applications within the waves; Support the Application Teams in preparing and aligning their Ecosystems for Transformation Planning.

Responsibilities

  • Identify Gaps between Future & Target Architecture: Assessing gaps between current & target cloud architecture and defining the application-specific work required to close them.
  • Design and implement cloud solutions: Develop scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud architectures tailored to business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with clients, developers, other architects and project managers to align solutions with organizational goals.
  • Assess and improve infrastructure: Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements or migrations to cloud environments.
  • Provide technical expertise: Serve as the go-to person for cloud-related technologies and best practices.
  • Leverage solution architecture practices and processes to help guide teams through current state analysis and future state design
  • Ensure compliance and security: Design solutions that adhere to industry standards, regulations, and security protocols.
  • Optimize performance: Continuously monitor and optimize cloud applications for efficiency, cost, and scalability.
  • Support innovation: Research emerging cloud technologies and advocate for their adoption within the organization.
  • Lead technical teams: Guide engineers and developers in implementing cloud strategies and solutions.
  • Document solutions: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures and deployment processes.
  • Other Responsibilities: Perform additional duties as assigned to meet organizational goals.



Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in Business Analysis, System Design and Development, Systems Engineering, or Technical Architecture; to include 3 years direct experience working within an Architect role.
  • Proficiency with major cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud.
  • Experience in migrating on-premises applications and systems to the cloud.
  • Proven experience in designing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages like Python, Java, or C#.
  • Experience with modern API architectures and best practices.
  • Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills for presenting ideas and achieving consensus.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience using tools such as Terraform AWS CloudFormation.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including VPNs, load balancers, and firewalls.
  • Proficiency in modeling architectures using industry-standard tools like ArchiMate, Visio, or Miro.
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles, data protection, and compliance frameworks like GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
  • Self-learner and ability to work independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Git, or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SAFe Agile Framework and TOGAF principles.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Architect.
  • Experience solutioning hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments. AWS and GCP preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud architectures in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) or healthcare.
  • Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, Splunk, or Dynatrace.
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud-native and traditional databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery).
  • Proficiency with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.


Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. (High school diploma or GED required.)

Compensation:

Hourly W2 pay rate $80.00 to $90.00/hr
