BCBSNE is happy to offer four work designations for our Omaha area employees: 100% in-office, Hybrid - 3 days in office, Hybrid - 2 days in office, 100% remote. Occasional visits to the office.

The Strategy Analyst is a cross-functional partner with expertise in market research, investment evaluation, and data analytics. This person collaborates with Product, Marketing, Customer Experience, Sales, Account Management, and others to drive business growth & retention. Team members leverage internal & external data for strategic decisions in commercial, government, ancillary, and health & wellness markets related to the evolving health insurance industry. Integrity, dependability, and relationship-building are essential to success in this role.

What you'll do:

  • Research competitive landscapes to identify market opportunities; proactively share information and present concise recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Build trustworthy tools and visualizations for KPI reporting and data discovery, including actionable analytics for marketing, products, CX, and sales pipelines
  • Serve as a collection point to ensure the use of quality data for product planning; collaborate with technical and business teams to advance department goals
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, trade-offs, and feasibility for business cases
  • Support ad-hoc requests, strategic initiatives, and other duties as assigned

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics or related field
  • At least two (2+) years' experience in research, analytics or strategy
  • Skills in identifying meaningful patterns from quantitative & qualitative data
  • Ability to produce projections, scenarios, and options for strategy development
  • Confidence in public speaking and working as part of a team

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.

The ability to meet or exceed the attendance and timeliness requirements of their departments.

The ability to work well in a team environment and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers.

The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:

  • Health insurance or health care industry knowledge
  • Experience vetting ideas for potential product offerings or innovations
  • Experience using market assessments to drive action with business partners
  • Skills in attribution / valuation methods for estimating return on investment, etc.
  • Skills in data analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, Azure, Databricks, R or Python, survey software such as QuestionPro, or AI tools such as Copilot
