Major/Essential Functions


  • ODPA Surplus Warehouse staff must follow standards of cleanliness and organization set by ODPA/OPSDIV leadership, Risk Management, and/or EHS throughout all workspaces, including onsite pick-ups and vehicles, to ensure the health and safety of ODPA Surplus Warehouse staff and others. Must follow and maintain up-to-date safety protocols, forklift certification, etc. provided by various sources through ODPA/OPSDIV leadership. Must be driver approved and have all up to date certifications for operating Texas State vehicles and equipment.
  • Treatment of Technology: All technology must be palletized and recorded for transfer to TDCJ within a time requirement established by ODPA/OPSDIV leadership and ensure any/all hard drives are removed / recorded/disposed of following implemented protocols
  • Customer Service: Professional behavior and customer service will be required both in the office and in the field when interacting with customers, stakeholders, ODPA/OPSDIV staff, and ODPA Surplus Warehouse team.
  • ODPA Surplus Warehouse staff are required to follow directives and perform to high
  • standards of quality, efficiency, and effectiveness as set by supervisor(s) / ODPA / OPSDIV leadership related but not limited to: Surplus Pick-ups, Warehousing/Inventorying, Auctioning, Palletizing, Warehouse Sales, Relocations Assistance, and Moving Services. These objectives will meet the needs of customer and stakeholder expectations and relate directly to supporting key performance indicators.
  • ODPA Surplus Warehouse staff will be required to use various methods of communication including, but not limited to: email, Skype, RMS, OneNote, and text. (Surplus Warehouse cell phones may be used for contact between staff and supervisor). Acknowledgment of standardized documentation and departmental meetings provided by department/supervisor(s)/ODPA and or OPSDIV Leadership are required through various formats but not limited to: in-person, tangible deliverables, and electronic / virtual. Issues, concerns, and questions that directly impact the critical functions of Surplus Warehouse should be brought to supervisor(s)/ODPA and or OPSDIV Leadership immediately.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation plus one year experience in related area. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in job related field plus three years experience related to the assigned area; OR a combination of education and/or related experience to equal seven years.

Pay Statement
