JOB SUMMARY
The Orthopaedic Surgery department is looking to hire a full time Departmental Project Specialist. The Project Specialist will help coordinate the Joint Replacement Program by collaborating with surgeons and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. The Project Specialist also oversees program development, data analysis, process improvement, patient education, and care coordination across the continuum. They will also act as a liaison among providers, manages quality metrics, and supports patient advocacy and satisfaction.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Experience
2 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree
Advanced degree may be used in lieu of years of experience.
Preferred
- Education
Master's Degree in a related field and/or prior internship experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience
Prior internship experience in a healthcare setting with a Master's Degree
JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for various project management duties within a department, which require understanding of and adherence to principles of project management: definition phase, goal clarity, transparency about project status, risk recognition, management of project disturbances, etc.
- Responsible for documenting project scope, project resources and project management reporting.
- Perform current state assessment and document business case and projected business results for department initiatives.
- Responsible for performing project tasks including basic business process analysis, creation of training and change management plans, as well as other operating support activities that are required to implement department initiatives.
- Responsible for communicating project objectives and working in collaboration with medical directors and clinic managers to operationalize processes to achieve goals
- Works under the direction of the Manager to monitor budget, timeline and scope adherence of major initiatives and escalate any variances to manager.
- Coordinates with various areas to ensure universal applications of policy; develops and implements procedures to ensure efficiency.
- Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
- Build, develop and grow any relationships vital to the success of the project
- Conduct post reviews to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
- Assist in development of best practices and tools for project implementation.
- May provide direction to others in performance of duties.
