Job Description

To oversee all aspects of the Bretton Woods Ski Area, including but not limited to, mountain operations, Bretton Woods Membership Club, Golf, Development, Governmental Affairs, and Community Relations. Oversees budget, guest service, safety and summer activities. Provide leadership and direction to all on- mountain personnel. In addition, the Ski Area General Manager builds and maintains relationships with key customers, civic and community leaders and influencers through personal engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of ski area, including mountain operations, Bretton Woods Membership Club, Governmental Affairs, Community relations, and Golf Area during summer season.
  • Ensures accurate revenue, expense and labor forecasts and execution
  • Provide direction and leadership to Ski Area (Alpine/Nordic), Membership, and Golf during summer
  • Responsible for overseeing future condo development projects
  • Sets goals and expectations for direct reports
  • Identifies leadership and fosters career development
  • Inspires and motivates team to achieve operational excellence
  • Creates a cohesive leadership team and positive business environment that consistently delivers results
  • Develops deployment strategies to market ski area to continue to grow market share
  • Participates in daily Operations meetings to ensure strong and sustained interdepartmental communications, problem resolution and guest satisfaction.
  • Holds staff accountable for successful performance in a positive manner
  • Utilizes an "open door" policy


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training, experience, and/or education.
  • Must have previous experience overseeing Alpine/Nordic ski area.
  • Strongly preferred to have experience with golf and membership programs.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be attentive to detail.
  • Must have ability to adapt to unexpected situations
  • Willing to working in a crowded environment, long periods of walking and standing, indoor/outdoor weather conditions, long periods of computer work.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and pull and push up to 70lbs.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
