Authority, Scope and Basic Function

The position has primary responsibility to prepare detailed and accurate drawings of Novum's scope of work as used in a specific project. Working, in some cases, from sketches and incomplete architectural specifications, must collaborate closely with Preconstruction Engineer to convert information into detailed physical documentation incorporating specific requirements as to finish, tolerance and dimension.

Essential Duties and Principal Responsibilities


  1. Prepare project concept and submittal drawings in accordance with Novum scope of work and standards.
  2. Perform dimensional checks on all drawings, and in collaboration with Preconstruction Engineer
  3. Check vendor drawings for dimensional accuracy and conformance to project documents and requirements. Notify Project Engineer of any discrepancies.
  4. Maintain drawing log for the project (client, vendor and Novum drawings).
  5. Assist in the preparation of project submittals, and with archiving of drawing files in accordance with company procedures.
  6. Perform all project work in a very accurate fashion and in accordance with project deadlines.
  7. Make recommendations on how to better standardize and/or reduce costs of components utilized in the project.
  8. Perform any other assignment within your general duties and individual skills as needed.
  9. Follow company policies and processes. Recommend improvements to Supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities


  • Associates degree, preferably in Architectural Drafting and/or Auto CAD certification.
  • Three (3) plus years' of related design/drafting experience.
  • Organized and highly detailed with excellent accuracy.
  • Willingness to work within deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a team setting in achieving corporate growth goals.
  • Use of basic computer tools and software (Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD. Strong familiarity with 3-D highly preferred.)
